🥇 If you can flex to 3 nights → book the Surf Cottage in Pleasure Point (Jul 3–6). It's the dream base: small, walk-to-surf, ★4.97. Best by far for a SUP weekend.
🏠 Sticking to 2 nights, want a house → the Aptos Beach House ($2,518, ★4.85/417, pack-n-play ✓). The only big home here with a real track record and the crib sorted — just ~15 min from the waves.
💸 Best value for 2 adults + a baby → honestly, a hotel. Quality Inn Capitola ($678) or Hyatt Place ($736) — clean, pool, 5–6 min to the surf, and ~$1,800 less than a 3BR house you don't need. Splurge on the Dream Inn ($1,658) only if surf-at-your-door is worth it.
